I was debating on giving this 4 or 5 stars, and if I could, I'd give this 4.5 stars. Here are my pros and cons, so you can decide if this is the right book for you. For background, I am an intermediate to advanced wire-weaver and am experienced in multiple types of jewelry, from beading to metal forging and shaping.Pros:The designs are drop-dead GORGEOUS! I am truly awe-inspired by Susan's designs. :DThe designs are on the complex side. This may or may not be a "pro" for you, but I am way beyond the beginner to somewhat intermediate designs in most wire-weaving books. There are a lot of photos, and they are very crisp.A variety of techniques are used, not just wire-weaving.Cons:The variety of techniques that are used will be difficult for most people. I doubt that most people will have access to a hydraulic press, torches, metal punches, dapping tools, etc. While that's not so much of an issue for me, I suspect it would be a big issue for most people....like if you wanted to make the cover piece. The instructions seem to assume you already know a fair amount of wire weaving. This is an advanced book, and if you are a beginner, you will probably end up very frustrated.(That's it for the cons.)I do like this book for the beautiful designs. I generally do not actually make the designs in any book I buy, but I buy them for inspiration and to see new techniques I might not have come across. For the inspiration this book presents, I'd give it 5+ stars without any hesitation.I still have to take off some points, though, because the book is too scattered as to the tools and techniques needed. While wire-weaving is the focus, it would have been useful to provide less-expensive alternatives for those who don't have metal punches, hydraulic presses, etc. I preordered this book way back in November. I anxiously waited for it for months with the hope it would live up to my expectations. I was delighted when it arrived. The designs exceeded my expectations. What breathtaking jewelry . The author elevated wire weaving into a form of fine art. The designs are creative in ways I couldn't imagine. Using an insect wing or creating a vessel to hold precious memories around your neck. The different types of tools were a bonus. I have been wanting to branch out and try some new things. This book is just the catalyst. I am excitedly awaiting the delivery of my new soldering tool as a result. The breakout photos are super helpful. They are sharp and clear. The tutorials are very organized and clear. The information regarding tools and supplies are accurate and well laid out.I normally do not write reviews but felt compelled to complete this one because of the inspiring designs and fabulous tutorials. My only concern is -When is Susan's next book going to be out?
